Anna’s Story
Anna’s journey began in her own kitchen, where weekends were spent kneading dough, testing recipes, and sharing bakes with family and friends. What started as a simple love for fresh, honest food soon became a calling.
After years of perfecting her craft, she decided to take a leap — opening The Cosy Oven in hopes of bringing that same warmth and joy to her local community.
Her vision was simple: to create a space where people could slow down, enjoy a cup of coffee, and savour something freshly baked from the heart.
Today, The Cosy Oven has grown into a place filled with the comforting smell of pastries in the oven, friendly faces behind the counter, and the same homemade spirit that started it all.

2018
The Beginning
After years of baking from home and dreaming of something more, Anna opened the doors to The Cosy Oven in Athlone. What started as a small neighbourhood bakery quickly became a local favourite for fresh bread, coffee, and friendly faces.
2019
Growing Community
Word spread fast, and soon the bakery became a morning ritual for locals. We expanded our menu to include an all-day breakfast and introduced pre-orders for our most-loved loaves and cakes.
2020
Baking Through Uncertain Times
When the world slowed down during COVID-19, we kept the ovens warm. We introduced home deliveries and takeaway boxes so our customers could still enjoy fresh bakes safely at home — a small comfort during a difficult year.

Recognised for Our Craft
We were honoured to receive a Local Food and Hospitality Award for Best Artisan Bakery — a moment of pride for our dedicated team and loyal customers who made it possible.

From Simple Ingredients to Cosy Bakes
At The Cosy Oven, we keep things simple: good flour, real butter, fresh eggs and carefully chosen local ingredients wherever we can. Every morning, our team is in early mixing doughs, laminating pastry, whisking batters and hand-shaping each bake. It’s slow, hands-on work – but it’s how we make sure every loaf, bun and slice that leaves our oven tastes like real, honest home baking.
